Kedelai sebagai bahan pangan yang sangat diminati di Indonesia menempati urutan ketiga setelah padi dan jagung, karena memiliki kandungan protein yang cukup tinggi. Namun produksi dalam negeri tidak mampu mengimbangi kebutuhan nasional, sehingga harus ditempuh dengan cara import. Salah satu cara peningkatan produksi kedelai yaitu peningkatan luas areal panen yang dapat dicapai dengan ekstensifikasi ke areal lahan kering yang keberadaannya sangat luas di Indonesia, hal ini bisa tercapai jika pengelolaan air pada lahan tersebut bisa dilaksanakan secara optimal. Mengingat pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman yang optimal dapat dicapai bila air sebagai faktor terpenting dalam pertumbuhan tanaman dapat tersedia dalam jumlah yang cukup sesuai dengan kebutuhan tanaman, maka salah satu solusi yang harus diperbaiki adalah mencari sistim pengelolaan air yang tepat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan air tanaman kedelai guna mendukung keberlanjutan ketersediaan pangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
