Salah satunya adalah program intervensi gizi melalui \u201cfood based\u201d dengan pilihan teknologi fortifikasi. Dipilihnya tepung tempe karena tempe merupakan sumber protein yang banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat dan berguna dalam pembentukan sel darah merah dan kadar haemoglobin dalam darah. Dalam tempe sebenarnya sudah terkandung berbagai vitamin dan mineral namun perlu ada penambahan vitamin dan mineral yang penting untuk menurunkan anemia gizi. Pada buku ini dijelaskan pembuatan tepung tempe kemudian dilakukan fortifikasi zat besi. Produk tepung tempe fortifikasi ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan unruk pembuatan makanan cemilan baik makanan jajanan basah maupun kering.
