Mereka kehilangan jabatan karena kegagalan melakukan tindak lanjut (follow-through). Mereka gagal memastikan bahwa rencana yang telah disepakati benar-benar dijalankan di setiap lini organisasi, dari direktur hingga staf administrasi. Langkah pertama yang paling fundamental dalam siklus strategi adalah menentukan arah: &#8220;Kita mau pergi ke mana?&#8221;. Jika arah tidak jelas, kecepatan tidak ada gunanya.
