Oleh karena itu, pada tahap awal penyusunan buku ini akan dibahas secara khusus mengenai peralatan yang digunakan dalam pekerjaan tanah. Sebelum masuk ke pembahasan tersebut, ada baiknya dijelaskan terlebih dahulu secara singkat mengenai sifat-sifat tanah.<\/p>\n<p>1. Pada dasarnya pekerjaan tanah bisa dipisahkan menjadi beberapa kegiatan, yaitu:<\/p>\n<p>a. Pekerjaan pemotongan tanah (cutting)<\/p>\n<p>Pekerjaan yang bertujuan mengurangi ketinggian tanah sampai mencapai ketinggian yang direncanakan.<\/p>\n<p>b. Pekerjaan pemuatan (loading)Usaha yang memuat hasil pemotongan ke dalam alat pengangkut.<\/p>\n<p>c. Pekerjaan pengangkutan (hauling)Usaha memindahkan tanah ke tempat lain<\/p>\n<p>d.
