Sifat mekanik beton ini dapat ditingkatkan dengan menambahkan material yang memiliki kuat tarik yang tinggi, seperti tulangan baja dan serat yang berasal dari bahan komposit (Fares dan Burak Bakir, 2024). Dengan menambahkan tulangan baja atau atau serat komposit akan mengubah perilaku beton yang getas menjadi bahan yang bersifat daktail. Selama beberapa dekade terakhir, struktur yang terbuat dari beton bertulang, contohnya dinding struktural, telah banyak digunakan pada bangunan tinggi yang terletak di daerah gempa, karena dinding struktural memiliki kekakuan yang efektif dalam menahan beban lateral oleh gempa atau tekanan angin. Keefektifan struktur dinding ini dalam menjamin keamanan struktur akibat bencana alam ini dibuktikan dan diakui melalui penelitian eksperimental yang telah dilakukan secara ekstensif (Wu et al., 2017). Namun, untuk memahami respon non-linear yang kompleks, pengujian eksperimental tidak bisa menjadi satu- satunya metode yang dipakai karena keterbatasan biaya dan waktu.
