The school granted us a one-day break yesterday. Then, when they realized they had been too generous, they sent her to us as compensation. But the only joy I imagine getting after the exam is burning the doctrines we rote learned, letting its ashes scatter, and finally tasting the school holiday ahead. I didn’t want to start a third regime or anything—I just wanted this to end fast—and I’d rather run out than oppose anyone like her. It didn’t help either that she’d shout at the entire class to pay extra attention to the questions whenever she walked by certain students.
