Deskripsi

One of the teaching goals is to help students keep the learning input in mind over a long time and promote deeper understanding. When both conditions are met, meaningful learning can occur. Ausebel elaborated that meaningful learning involves how knowledge is organized and how the cognitive structure connects learners’ new learning to their existing knowledge. Practically, it also concerns about how new content is presented in ways that support understand.e.what referredtoas meaningfu verbal learning. They way learning materials are presented is crucial since they serve as media for learners to internalize new learning input. To support meaningful verbal learning, teachers can use advance organizers such as visuals, titles, graphs, or questions, which represent the structure of the new materials. This chapter aims to demonstrate how digital advance organizers can be utilized to teach EFL reading. This chapter is particularly relevant for EFL teachers seeking to enhance students’ long-term retention and deepen their reading comprehension.
